The drill has two speeds and the graphics at the speed selector show the faster speed for twist drill bits and the slower speed for annular drill bits. I didn’t have any plate steel to hand but I did have a piece of ½” thick cast iron and the video show me drilling this. ![]() The manufacturer is very confident in this product and they offer a generous five year warranty. The instruction book is a bit ambiguous on this point but Milwaukee does not advertise that a pipe is included. Cutting fluid can be pumped into the drill via a pipe and bottle but, oddly, the plastic pipe is not included but the bottle is. There is an LED light to illuminate the drilling area. The three armed feed handle will fit on either side and attaches with the press of the center locking button. Twisting the arbor opens the lock to allow the chuck to be fitted and removed. This 30 lb drill has a built in carrying handle and it is comfortable to hold and maneuver when positioning the drill. The included pilot pin helps to precisely position the drill bit in just the right place. This feature allows the operator to set up the drill more easily. The magnetic pull is progressive and as the control knob is turned the magnetic force is increased. There is also a safety strap to fasten the drill down as well as the magnet. The magnet is so strong it can be used in either horizontal or vertical positions. The base has a strong magnet used to fix the drill to the piece being worked on. This type of drill is used most often to drill large diameter holes in pipes, plate steel, storage tanks and that sort of thing. ![]()
